I have an electric rear gate in my Audi A6 Avant. I can open it using the key or the button in the driver's door, but it does not work when I try to open it manually in the gate itself. Any ideas?

I can not answer your question, but surely a two year old car is still under guarantee from the dealer who sold it to you.

Hi its the rubber switch on the tailgate that has malfunctioned they get water in them and the con tacts corrode.
