Water collection issue

Featured Replies

Hello,

I recently joined the Audi Owners Club and really need some advice regarding a recent issue. I’ll start by saying I know nothing about cars.

I've had my TT convertible 2017 plate for 4 years and this has never happened before. When it rained (biblically) a week ago Friday the compartment (drivers side) that houses the mechanics of the roof and the roof itself filled up with water and when it hit a level it drained into the space behind the seat, having mopped the water out a day later (after it had rained heavily again) the footwell then was under water. Having drawn the water out of the footwell, a mechanic I use (not Audi specialist) was able to draw the water (2 litres) out of the compartment that houses the roof mechanism. Surely there is a drain hole here? Any suggestions on what to do? We are due days of dry weather, but need to get it resolved before it becomes an issue again. Thanks very much!

Try cleaning the rear drain hoses under the flaps for the hood, they block up and don’t let the water drain away. You should see the water run out under the car. They are quite difficult to get too, but once clear it should help, if not solve the issue. I have the same issue on my TT cleared the drains  which has helped and now the drivers side is dry but still having issue with passenger side even though drain is clear. Not sure what try next. Any further remedies or issues would be greatly appreciated

Is it it possible the hoses have developed a permant kink that is obstructing flow?

No all hoses are running free and clear of kinks and obstructions. Not sure how and where the water is getting in.
