Low oil pressure when I foot flat but not on idle.

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

I have had a problem occur in the past week of my oil pressure light coming on when I put my foot down. Can someone confirm what this is. I am taking my sump out this weekend to look at the pick up pipe, sensor, oil pump and just overall condition of my oil.

My oil has dropped at all which makes me think it is the oil pump faulting out but I am unsure. When I let off the gas and go easier on the throttle it goes away.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I t is most likely the pump failing, well worth replacing the pump and any drive mechanism.

I took my sump off and replaced my pick up pipe. It was pretty clogged up and seems to have solved the issue. I will still be replacing the oil pump in the near future just to be sure.
