sharkey74
Hi, Got an A6 Avant 45TFSI last week and no issues until yesterday apple car play stopped showing, phone still connect and can stram on bluetooth but won't display car play. It coincided with me both installing a sim car and registering with the my adui app etc but did work for a short while after that. I have tried removing the phone from the car system and then starting again and car play is ticked in the bluetooth setting on the phone and the phone has the most up to date firmware etc. It is booked in to Audi but not for 4 weeks and in case it is a simple fix I thought I would ask here, thanks. I did do some searches first and couldn't find an obvious topic that covers this so hope it's not a duplication.
Steve Q
You've done the right thing getting it booked in as it'll need a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up.

jammy
Do a hard reset. Hold the round on / off dial for 15-30 seconds (until it restarts). CarPlay often does this - black screen / nothing showing.
sharkey74
Thanks I will give that a go, it's not a black screen it just won't load carplay at all

Does your car show in the CarPlay app in your phone settings?
sharkey74
Yeah I will give it a go can't hurt. Instead of the Car Play icon on the Home screen I get a Phone Apps folder and when I click in there I can see it says my name and car play but when I press it it goes green, i assume meaning it is connecting, and then after a few mins white meaning it hasn't connected

Obviously it should open the car play when you access it. The question I asked earlier was whether your account was correct in your settings on your iPhone? settings —> General —> CarPlay. You could try deleting / resetting it from there.
sharkey74
Hadn't understood what you meant, I just deleted that and the Bluetooth connection and then removed the phone from the connected devices on the car. Set it up again and it asked if I would like to use car play so said yes and then the same thing again, so unfortunately didn't work. Starting to def think it's a fault somewhere and not just the "nut behind the wheel"
