2016 Q7 3.0 v6 Tdi - Engine question

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have the above car, engine number CZZA. The car broke down suddenly and wouldn't start, diagnosed fault to being 2 injectors. Replaced all 6 just to be sure. When the car was fired up it wasn't sounding great. Turns out compression lost on 4 cylinders and there could be damage to the bottom end (potentially bent conrods).

The quotes to repair have been quite high, and obviously an engine replacement is also pricey.

Does anyone know if there is another Audi/VW bottom end that would be a straight swap with no hassle? I have the chance of a Touareg engine code CRCA, but been advised it won't work.

Appreciate any help in advance. Thanks.

Did the cambelt break? If it did you could also need a top end because of damaged valves.

No, it didn't.
