Left dipped / main beam error

Featured Replies

Hi,

as the title says I’m getting a Left dipped / main beam error, I thought it’d be just as simple as changing the bulb but obviously it’s not and the wheel and lining has to be removed. When I type my reg in I don’t get the same bulb replacement that’s already in the car, I think it sees my car as an 8P with it being A 2012 but it is an 8V. The left light is flickering on off, it might stay on for a few miles then goes off. Would this just be a bulb replacement or I’ve seen some saying ballast? Also does anyone know what type of bulb I need? Thanks

Hi if you post a picture of your headlight that will help as if you have projector lenses my guess is that it will be a D3s bulb which will possibly need ballast unit as well, both are easy swaps.

Hi thats the bulb then probably wont need a ballast, I am pretty sure these are D3s bulbs, a word to the wise change both sides, the standard bulbs are 42000 kelvin so for a little treat go up to 5500 kelvin and have much better lights.
