Start stop fault

Featured Replies

Hi

I recently bought a brand new A3 Petrol 1.4l. The car cuts out intermittently and the start stop function sometimes does not work. I have nearly got rear ended in a number of occasions. I brought it back to the garage and they said there is no known fault. However now I am getting an error for brake servio restricted. I reported it to Audi assistance and they towed the car to the garage. Again the garage could not identify a fault. They said it was a communication error and they reset it and said see how you go. Within 24 hours the brake servio restricted fault was back on and I brought it back to the garage. I spoke to the head service manager who said there have been issues with the start stop and they will investigate and then log a ticket with the Audi technical team? Any advice for me? Anyone with similar problems please? Thanks

Welcome Loraine and thanks for joining.
Although we appreciate your enquiry, the solution to your issue doesn’t rest here, and it’s irrelevant if anyone else has the same problem - you have, and the vehicle can be considered to be dangerous to drive.
On the ‘any advice’. If it were mine, I would threaten to reject the car. If you are going down that route, address your e-Mail to the Dealer Principal, stating Registration no. and VIN, the issues you have had, and their inability to rectify the faults, even though you have given them them the opportunity to do so.

Perhaps you could let us know how you get on.

Kind regards,

Gareth,
