Lanoguard

Featured Replies

Hi all - I’m into my A6Allroad for a long time I hope.
Its on an 18 plate with only 60k on it.

Ive previously had my Honda Accord and my Ford Kuga treated with WAXOYL, but I was wondering if it’s worth treating the Allroad with Lanoguard ?

it seems to have much more aluminium underneath than the Honda or the Ford so am I trying to protect it from something it’s not going to suffer from ?

your thoughts please

Hello Ian,

I’ve not used Lanoguard, but have used Waxoyl. The only downside I read of with Lanoguard is that because it comprises of lanolin, the little critters and their bigger relations can have an appetite for it - and any wiring etc that gets covered with it.

As well as Lanoguard, it would be worth looking at similar products by Dinitrol and Bilt Hamer ( spelling?) pbefore deciding which suits you best.
Re. aluminium and corrosion - it does indeed corrode to white powder. Also it causes differential corrosion between any steel components it contacts.
Perhaps you would let us know what you decide to use Ian.
Kind regards,

Gareth.

I have coated a few of my cars with lanogaurd and will be coating the A6 aswell. The A6 is definitely going to take a lot longer as there is a hell of a lot more trim underneath to remove.

i like it, but you must clean and dry throughly like anything before applying.

ive have it on a touran, Leon, kodiaq and I have another kit ready to go to the Audi when the weather is better.

German cars do have a fair bit of trim and I never found a yearly application was really needed as most it’s covered anyway. Every 2/3 years dependant on age, mileage and how far up north or near the sea you are

Thanks for your replies guys.

There’s a chap near me who does a ‘professional service’ for Lanoguard so I will get a price for him.

Do bear in mind there is a lot of trim on Audi too remove so the labour cost maybe more than your anticipating compared to other cars
