ABS ESP intermittent warning light

Featured Replies

Hi all

Need a little advice I have a 2004 B6 S4 cabriolet

I have an intermittent ABS ESP warning light activation

I have changed the wheel sensors, brake pedal switch and the reluctor rings but it still comes up

The garage I have used to diagnose has said the only other thing it could be is the ABS electronic control unit - which you can no longer buy (but was £1800 when you could!)

I have been told they can be repaired  / refurbed

does anyone know where and how much this is likely to be  - I live in Surbiton Surrey  I use Volkspeed for all my engine maintenance who are excellent but I would rather cut out a third part and go direct

Any one with any advice or assistance it would be incredibly gratefully received as apart from this (which drives me nuts) the car is in perfect condition

to note in the last year I have replaced

Full front suspension

Timing chain all belts and pulleys and tensioners

all discs and pads

valve cover gaskets and all other gaskets

all fluids everywhere

wheel sensors etc

full service

would really appreciate some advice!!

Hi look up ECU testing on line, I think they have an outlet near you but I think you will have to get your old unit posted to them they then test it and repair it if its not to far gone, if it is they often have a refurbed unit available and they are not expensive.
