2015 Q5 gets a new front grill

Featured Replies

Picked up a replacement grill for the Q5 on eBay for a bargain price.

Took a lot of screws but removing the bumper was actually rather simple.

Removing the old grill took a bit of persuading to release all the clips but once it was out I moved on to the next issue, the new grill had a lower section that theoretically would fit into the Q5's but I couldn't get it to work at all. So I cut off the offending section and in she popped.

With the old grill the crash bar was covered, but as the new grill left it completely exposed I sprayed it with some matt black paint before getting the bumper back on so that it wouldn't stick out like a sore thumb. Everything bolted up nicely, although the grill came with a nice set of Audi rings in gloss black, I decided to swap over the chrome ones from the old grill as I thought it looked better.

Not 100% sold on the RSQ5 badge but I've left it on for now to see if it grows on me.

Also took the opportunity to swap out the old number plates as they had been badly screwed on but now have my new private plate stuck on.

Now wondering if I should have removed the covers from behind the fog lights grills to open them up.
