Rear parking sensors

Featured Replies

Hi all, I know this subject has been covered, appologies. I have 2007  A3 sportsback tfsi. The usual thing, were working, get the long beep then nothing. I can not hear any buzzing or feel any vibration from any of the sensors. My question is, is there a central unit controlling all the sensors? and can this fail or is it normally just one or two sensors? I have seen something about a unit in the rear ,side panel in the boot , can this be easily changed? I have tried to find a thread that covers this but most seem to concentrate on a particular sensor being faulty.

Many thanks in advance and I hope this is the right way to do it as total neewbie to using forums.

As far as I can see the PDC control (situated on right hand side in boot has part number 8P0919283D). The last letter may change, depends on versions.

Double check yourself. It could be anything from broken wires, rather than a defective unit. This part new from Audi is £158, but quick check on EBay, they can be had for as little as £18.

Ideally you want to scan the car with VCDS as it will pinpoint the error.

More details here regards part search. https://www.lllparts.co.uk/catalogs/audi/RDW/A3/412/9/919/919020

Unlikely to be the module. Probably one or more sensors at fault. It’s one out - all out. As said, diagnostics will pin point which one. I changed one of mine about 18 months ago, but same issue has returned. Faulty EBay one, or another one of the originals??

Many thanks for all the replies, can I ask whether the cheaper, £30-40 diagnostic units are worth the money? Do they all do more or less the same or do I need Audi specific one? Again thanks
