A6 C7 no USB & AMI cable doesn't recognise iPhone 16

Featured Replies

 Hi All

I've recently acquired a 2018 A6 avant, it doesn't appear to have any USB sockets only the AMI socket under the armrest

There's an AMI cable connected with male USB mini and USB c adapter, it fits my iPhone and charges but the MMI system does not recognise the phone ( the phone connects to telephone function via bluetooth ok )

software ver: RMC_EU_P16342  if that helps

The AMI cable is dated March '09 ?

I'd welcome any possible solutions on offer or recommendations

Thanks for any thoughts

I have a similar issue. I have the cable which fits into the armrest and charges an iPhone with a lightening port connector and feeds into the entertainment system. I called audi today and asked for the same but usb-c for newer iPhones. They don’t make them for 203/14 A3.

any idea what aftermarket one will do the trick?

Ebay list suitable 'other' cables, just search for 'Audi AMI to usb C' or similar.  I found a range of different suppliers, paid about £8 & it works fine
