Cv Joint ???

Featured Replies

Hi all ,

For the last few weeks I've noticed a clicking noise from front of car when turning left , it doesn't happen all the time,  it can't be intermittent,  I've checked rubber boots and all intact and nothing seem lose , to me it sounds like a CV Joint , could it be possible to have a cv joint noise intermittently and with everything intact ??

Thanks

Hey Jepor,

right today when I had my A6 checked for wheel bearings an Audi was checked for clicking sounds when turning left or right at slow speeds, they did find a bad CV joint, one had a tear, so maybe this helps.

Thanks Hamza ,

was it 2 joints or 1 you had to change ? As you could hear it when you turned both ways . Like I said I have no rips in the boot but defo a clicking sound intermittently,  seems to click when I turn left but not everytime , I really notice when turning left and accelerating out of a junction . I thought the click would be there all the time if my CV was in trouble?

No. The noise is always worse when turning because the balls have to move further in their tracks.
