Holster Posted Tuesday at 07:49 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:49 PM Good evening everyone, just wondering if anyone had any ideas regarding the hub and driveshaft on my Audi A1 I needed to replace both these parts after going over a large rock resulting in me smashing my hub and splitting my driveshaft, it’s on the drivers side, I bought a corner suspension for it genuine part second hand, it was from a A1 25 Tfsi on a 2023 plate, mine is A1 30 Tfsi 6 speed manual on a 2022 plate. My mechanic came to fit it, however the hub on the replacement part was a different size to mine, I didn’t expect that so just wondering is this the case or was I sent the wrong part, I didn’t expect that return the items and got a full refund but now I’m confused which one I should be looking for. Any help would be massively appreciated Thanks in advance
cliffcoggin Posted Tuesday at 07:56 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:56 PM It's hardly surprising a different model has different suspension. The spring will likely also differ.
Holster Posted Tuesday at 08:09 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 08:09 PM Driveshaft fit no problem I thought that would have been different not the hub The hub was smaller than mine, I guess the hub has to be from identical model in order to fit.

alpha omega Posted Tuesday at 08:17 PM Posted Tuesday at 08:17 PM ask your mechanic see if he/she can look it up

Mine have been removed now so I am comparing parts via images and numbers but none seem to be exact.
Magnet Posted Wednesday at 08:12 AM Posted Wednesday at 08:12 AM Hello Holly, I can understand you being the parts chaser, otherwise you are paying the mechanic for his time to do so. Having said that, I don’t know exactly how you are going about this, where you have looked to date, whether you are set on secondhand parts, and all important - do you know the part number of the hub you are searching for. Perhaps you could colour in this detail for us Holly. Regards, Gareth.

Thanks Gareth i am going to buy the full section this is how they are usually sold on eBay it also seems to be the cheapest option, the part number i am using for a comparison is from the driveshaft difficult to use part number from hub, no barcode or sticker part number. So I am buying the same part number driveshaft with the hub attached, I have now sourced and purchased one I’m hoping this will be the one. Fingers crossed. Thanks again for your response I appreciate it.
