millertime9 Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Hi all, I think it know the answer but need to check.. Cars been sat up for 6 weeks as I have an EV and im looking to sell it I thought I had better give it a run, but battery was totally dead So brought battery in, charged it, but keys wouldn't unlock the door or boot so assumed it needed re-paired to the car as the battery was so flat I started the car, worked fine - great BUT.. 聽When i tried the sequence to re-pair the key fob, there was a hell of a weird vibration noise coming from the front oaasenger side, the glovebox was vibrating like mad Turns out the passenger footwell is soaking, proper soaking - i peeled the carpet back and there's a few cm of water 馃槥 Am I right in saying this is where the comfort module is? Is it being in water likely the noise somehow and this is the real reason the fob doesn't work the central locking? I love the car but if this is what it is id imagine its expensive and not worth fixing 馃槥
Steve Q Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Correct that's where the CCM is. It would explain why the keys aren't working properly. Be careful of your electric windows as I suspect they might not work properly either.聽 If swapping the CCM you'll need one that's got the identical part code.聽
millertime9 Posted 4 hours ago Author Posted 4 hours ago Ok... 聽 If its been submerged is there ANY chance it could dry out and be fine?
millertime9 Posted 3 hours ago Author Posted 3 hours ago Just need to work out how to get into it now, carpet only feels so far back, I can see it but need the seat out I think (as per other thread, struggling to work out the "bit" i need because if the bizarre choice of bolt used!
Steve Q Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago You will need to remove door sill trims, loosen the centre console side trims and from under the dash near glovebox.聽
