Hello! I am а proud owner of an Audi a6 c7 3.0bitdi. The car suddenly started losing antifreeze at 500 ml per 1000 km. The heating of car works perfectly, it doesn't overheat, the engine is dry. With more aggressive driving, it loses more antifreeze. Also, after about 500 km of driving, the first 5-10 minutes it smokes thick, white smoke. Can you give me some advice?

The likely culprit is the EGR cooler which can leak coolant into the engine causing the white smoke. It's expensive to replace.

The exhaust gas recycle (EGR) valve returns some of the exhaust into the engine intake in order to reduce harmful emissions. It is water cooled.

You can not turn it off, but the whole valve can be removed and the cooling circuit bypassed, however that will increase emissions and possibly cause other problems such as higher engine temperature and rapid blocking of the exhaust system. Whether such a modification is legal in your country is something you will have to discover for yourself.

Yeah i was asking for this. Not to be turned off but removed completely. I know it is legal in my country. Thank you very much for this information and helping me at all. I want to ask one last question, please. Where is egr located?
