I wonder if anyone has had a similar issue with their Q5.

When i am at a junction and pull away to the right i get a juddering feeling from the offside front of the car, it only last until I'm straight and then stops. I've spoken to a mechanic who has looked at the car but was unable to find the issue.

I'm interested to hear if I'm the only 1 or if there is a simple solution to a problem that is driving me mad (excuse the pun).

Cheers

Welcome Graham,

A couple of questions/observations:-

Any undue vibrations through steering or pedal when braking on right hand curves?

Turning right and offside, seems strange - would be easier to explain if it was N/s.

Have you tried testing the car in a large area where you can do continuous anti-clockwise circles at full lock for a few minutes, then checking for heat differences on both discs?
Regards,

Gareth.

Hi Gareth, many thanks for the reply.

It has done it very occasionally on the nearside, although today it has definitely more noticeable. Someone said "to me it sounds like the steering rack".... but I have no clue so it could be...🙂

Thanks Graham, but if you could answer the questions, and do the trial then it would help - otherwise you are going to get as many suggestions as the people you ask.

Yep I agree, as soon as I've done it I will add the results....

Many thanks.

Many thanks for the many thanks Graham. Is there any reason for not being able to answer the pre-trial question?
