mjclegg23 Posted July 12 Posted July 12 Hi, Looking for thoughts.. I have a 2018 A5 sportback 2.0Tfsi...I've just returned from a 6hr drive to and from Cornwall the car never missed a beat..just aircon issues hoping its not anything more than a re-gas..after 3hrs of driving the blowing slowed down and the sir became warmer, turned the blower up to full and the airflow was very low, then a musty smell, which I presume is the aircon needing to be re-gassed.. small trips during the week no problems with the airflow or temperature but yhen the return trip home and after 3-4hrs the airflow was low and temperature warmed up..could this be a re-gas?, motor?, compressor? Thanks in advance
cliffcoggin Posted Monday at 09:04 PM Posted Monday at 09:04 PM That the air flow reduces suggests an electronic problem. Best to get the system diagnosed.

mjclegg23 Posted 10 hours ago Author Posted 10 hours ago Yes thanks, not what I was hoping to hear..was waiting for any other comments..cars in for it's MOT 11th so good to know that it could be the electronics so I can expect that Thanks
cliffcoggin Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago It may be a control problem or a vent motor fault. A diagnostic scan on a professional machine should identify it.
mjclegg23 Posted 6 hours ago Author Posted 6 hours ago OK...it was only on the long hot trip to Cornwall that did it, not done it since on small 30 50 min trips, stays cool and power of the blower is as it should be on each setting...do getvthe odd musty smell which I thought was the gas getting low
cliffcoggin Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago A musty stink often indicates residual stagnant water in the condenser, caused by the drain being blocked by dirt or leaves. A dribble of water under the car when parked after driving in humid conditions with aircon tells you the drain is open. If there is no water the drain is blocked.
mjclegg23 Posted 2 hours ago Author Posted 2 hours ago (edited) OK, thanks yes always water under the car after parking Edited 2 hours ago by mjclegg23
mjclegg23 Posted 2 hours ago Author Posted 2 hours ago Once sorted next month, I'll update on what it was
