Head Restraint / Back pain

Featured Replies

Hi

I drive long distances and a first time Audi Owner ( GLC before ). I am experiencing significant neck and mid back pain due to the fixed position of head restraint. Tried altering the backrest and seat positions to no avail. Almost looking at selling and going back to GLC. Car is less than a month old !

accidentally posted before completing - please advise any ideas trips tricks etc. please.

Think it depend on the seats you have as some you can not adjust were as others you can.

What spec have you got?

If your front headrests look like the rear ones you can adjust these, if they do not look like the rears then they are fixed.

Such a shame for a car that handles well on road.

There are many things that makes no sense with the Q6, I expect the issue of having speakers in the headrest will be a reason why you can not adjust the head rest.

You think without the sound vision pack I would have had head restraint that can be adjusted ?

I guess it will be locked by the design.

If you have the same headrests as the ones with speakers built in I suspect to save cost Audi did not offer two options.

Thank you for responses- very disappointing not to be enjoying a new car !

Wish that was the only issue with mine and its not, mine has massive amount of issues with no remedy from Audi.

If the car was not 9 months old I would have rejected it a long time ago but promises of fixes still have not happened.

Personally anyone asking if they should be a Q6 or A4 I would tell them to run for the hills.

I am going to probably exchange it one I find a suitable "non-Audi". GLC electric on the way and I have a very positive experience from #1 Brabus. Using my wife's car as much as possible ☹️🤦🏽‍♂️

Smart cars have their own share of software problems, but I have not read any complaints of discomfort.

Agree, but I drive at a stretch about 200-220 miles due to my commitments and the pain I get in the neck and upper body is unbearable. Had GLC till 29th June and did same distances for 5 years without a problem 🤷🏽‍♂️

Wasted whole day sitting in Audi showroom located out of nowhere only to be told service and sale team Pointing in each others direction. Waste of time but one more lesson. Probably next time will rent out a car 1-2 weeks before I buy !

What were you trying to get them to do?

Few things they have not activated digitally for example digital key then hands free boot opening was not working. Then possible navigation updates ( no OTA) not just the speed limits it directs me two streets away from destination 🤷🏽‍♂️. Gave up any hope on head restraint  still remote / automatic unlock doesn’t work - essentially most things are not working as intended !

Hands Free Boot, is this an option?

As for the speed limits etc, Audi have told dealers via a technical bulletin to not touch or do anything so it means thats wrong and you can not use active cruise control as that relies on the correct speed of the roads.

Just looked at mine and its got no sensor.

Just looked on line on the Audi UK website and does not show this feature in any listing or as an added extra for the new design Q6 electric SUV

Just looked online and all the videos are USA based so wonder if its an option only in the USA.

I have the 1st Edition and there is no under bumper sensor, have you got a picture you can take of yours.

Is it because it is default ?

There is no sensor under the car to detect the foot movement, this is why i am keen to see yours, if you could take a photo it would be great help.
