MMI Amp blowing fuse

Featured Replies

Hi All.

My amplifier keeps blowing the fuse when I connect the main power connector back into the back of the amp. I think I need to repair/replace the amp.

Has anyone had similar issues and had successful resolutions this this?

Thank you in advance.

Hi Gareth,

Thanks for the reply.

I've had a look around the amp, does not seem to be any signs of water ingress on or around the area of the amp. I also looked in the spare tyre bay, nothing there. I had a look around the fuse box in the right boot compartment, and no signs there.

I optical bypass connectors, removed the black optical wire from the amp, used the bypass connectors; this resulted in no blown fuse, MMI display works as needed, just no sound. However, with full, normal connection, the fuse blows.

Regards,

JP
