Which fuse to use for constant power for dashcam

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have a nextbase dashcam I am looking to fit using their hardwiring kit into the fuse box of my 2018 Audi A3 tfsi

I wondered if anyone knows the best/safest fuse to tap into for constant power to enable the smart parking feature please?

I don’t have a multi meter so I can’t check myself

Cheers

It seems nobody knows Alex, but for less than a tenner the cheapest Ebay multimeter will do what you want, though don't rely on it for mains voltages etc. Alternatively you could buy a test light for less than a fiver.

Hello,

Some dash cam systems can be powered from your OBD2 reader - Mine is a Thinkware system and they sell a specific power lead to achieve this. So might be worth checking on your dashcam manufacturer’s website to see if there is an option you can purchase? I had a quick look at their website and it seems there are options on there depending on which kit/bundle you have purchased.

Hope you get sorted.

Best regards,

David👍
