Hi guys first post, and hoping its not the last :) Need some advice really on my daily driver...currently got a 118d SE 2008 which is a lovely car..cheap tax etc but timing cain woes are on the horizon i feel so want to get rid while i can...looking on the trader at A4 55 plate 1.9tdi tdv avants...any got any experience running these...if i buy one it will have at least 100k on it Full Service Audi History..but will be keeping it till the end! tongue.gif

hear the 1.9 unit is more dependable than the new 2.0tdi?

 

Just need a dependable machine for motorway and high mileage

Hi Jardinio, you're correct, the 1.9 is much more reliable!  Go for a manual gearbox as oppose to a multitronic and you will have a good reliable car.  Obviously check for full service history as you always would.  The timing belt should have been changed at 75k or 5 years.
