Driver Assist Help

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've recently bought a 25 plate A3, and I'm struggling to understand the driver assist settings.

The car seems to brake based on the speed and proximity of the car ahead, even with the Adaptive Cruise Control off. Does anybody know which assist is doing this?

It seems to be far too sensitive and slowing down for cars further ahead than I'd expect or like, which is really unnerving. Maybe I'll get used to it over time, but I was wondering if there's any way of adjusting the sensitivity, or if that's not an option, turn it off altogether?

Thanks

Should be able to adjust the sensitivity in the cars MMI menu in vehicle settings. Think it’s early, medium, late. No option to turn it off as it’s a legal requirement I believe now.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Is it the Pre Sense that causes this? I don't see any option to change the sensitivity for that, only to toggle that and swerve assist on/off.

I assumed that Pre Sense was only emergency braking to avoid collisions, but it's affecting the car in a way that I can only compare to adaptive cruise on my old Golf, even though I definitely have adaptive cruise control switched off on this.

Cheers

I was talking about presense and if adaptive cruise is not active then it should not intervene, i believe some models had other options that followed the car infront in a traffic jam upto a set speed but I have never came across it on a actual car. on your mmi rotate anti clockwise all the way, select that option, then push your dial to the left to access car settings, pre sense settings should be adjustable in there under a sub menu, that’s from memory so may hope I haven’t mis informed you
