Replace glow plugs as part of service??

Featured Replies

I have my 2012 A3 booked in with an Audi main dealer in s few weeks. It's done about 75000 miles.

I was told that as well as normal service items (brake fluid, air filter etc) they recommend replacing the glow plugs at this stage in a car's life. I've never heard of this before - anyone know if this is required?

Thanks.

Hi dont go near that particular pile of manure, glow plugs are normally changed when they throw a code, as for the life of the plugs that is indeterminate I have had to replace them at 130k but my A6 had done over 270k and I only ever changed the third plug as that has the knock sensor on it which had gone up the wall.

Steve.
