Hi,

Mine is the same, no engine cover.

I guess it is a cost saving thing. Plus the internal of the bonnet it technically utilised as the cover I would assume. Although I wouldn't say I notice excessive engine noise?

One part of this setup is there is no manual oil dipstick as well.

Hi,

I have a 2024 q3 1.5 tfsi, s line again no engine cover fitted.

I delved into the reason why, and was told that in the past,

some engine covers were going on fire due to the heat from

the turbo. p.s. you can get them off eBay if you search, but

I wouldn't risk it. hope this helps.

by the way, I have a Manuel dipstick fitted to my engine.

Brian.

Hi Detkl,

thanks for your input

exactly what I thought ( no one really sees it - take it away and save costs )

Wonder if you could purchase from someone as I would think it would help with the noise that I’m getting from miine

also trying to source carpeting for spare wheel area as feel it rather tinny in that area

any ideas

Slightly different scenario but the catching fire element was also a feature of the mk 8 golf gti and dealers were told to remove them.  Vw eventually revised the design and provided one for those who had them removed. Only recorded fire that I found was in the USA.
