Welcome Simon,

Invest £9.99 on an on-line VCheck on the vehicle.

Have you ran an MOT history check on this?

MOT elapsed Feb 2025 and car sold is being sold as spares or repairs - good luck with that! Has a history of numerous presentations for MOTs with tyres near or at the legal limit, together with suspension isxued, which would indicate its not been in careful hands.

Dec. 2022 to Feb 2024, the car covered just 60 miles, so this car has likely sat around for 2 years.
Um??
Regards,

Gareth.

Hi magnet , thank you for your reply , I did a history check on the vehicle before booking flights over the weekend . Suspension issue I did highlight to the garage selling the car and they have informed me that the drc suspension has been swapped out for coil overs… I do understand the drc suspension failing is a common issue with the b7 .

yes your correct the car has been sitting up for quite a while .

when I asked about MOT the response was they can’t MOT the car as it doesn’t have cats .. car is fitted with a full Milltek system , my concern on this front is why cats havnt been fitted & mot passed in order to ask a higher asking price . I feel there’s more to this but time will tell.

i did receive a 5 minute long video of the car from the dealer as requested by myself . I asked for the car to be stone cold before sending me a video which it was and looks to burried in with a lot more cars in front ..  the car seems to sound ok and look ok but then again videos or pics don’t do justice . I’m flying out Sunday morning to check it out correctly .

I will be sure to update on Sunday .

thank you again for your reply

I can also attach the video if you’d like to take a look and see can you notice or hear anything funny ? When the car is started at first abs and traction light appear and I’m presuming if the car has been sitting for a long period of time this will trigger .. you can see the dealer feeding the steering wheel side to side in order to get the lights to turn off ..

OK Simon,

It could just be me, but I cannot understand why you remain interested in this car, but it isn’t my money - thankfully!
This could be an interesting story to follow, so please keep the forum updated as that story unfolds.

I’m not buying this car as a road car it’s only being used on track hense why I’m interested in a cat D vehicle

It’s great when vital details are not mentioned until the 11th hour!

Such detail would save contributor’s coming up with irrelevant - but what they think are meaningful - comments.

There we are then?
Regards,

Gareth.

May I jump in out of curiosity because I am puzzled SImon? Why the concern over a lack of MOT, lack of cat, and modified suspension if it is to be a track car? I assume none of those things are relevant for off road use, and you would in any case modify or alter the car to meet whatever regulations are in force for the class of racing you intend.
