Audi A4 B9 - 2019 35 TFSI Petrol

Featured Replies

Good morning everyone,

I drive an Audi A4 2019. For the past few days, I have noticed that the coolant level in the reservoir keeps dropping from the maximum level to just above the minimum level.

Every time I open the bonnet, I can also smell coolant, and I have noticed a pinkish liquid around the engine area.

Could anyone please advise what this might be? Could it be a coolant leak or possibly a leaking pipe? Some areas of the 2.0 engine are difficult to reach and inspect properly.

I have attached a photo and would appreciate any advice from anyone who may have experienced a similar issue.

Thank you.

Photos of dried coolant are not helpful in diagnosis; you need to examine the engine bay while the engine is still hot and running to look for wet marks. The most likely source is the reservoir cap. Is it screwed on firmly? Is it damaged?

Found the problem this morning. It’s the connector shown in the attached photo — there is a thin hairline leak/crack in the connector.
