2015 Coolant Odor

Featured Replies

Hi, My 2015 A3 has about 15,000 miles on it. Ever since I got it about 6 years ago I notice a faint coolant odor after a drive. Never had to add coolant. Someone told me that is common with this engine. Doesn’t really bother me, just annoying. I replaced the reservoir’s cap with no success. Appreciate any suggestions. TIA

Don.

If you can smell the coolant it must be escaping somewhere, though at a mere 1500 miles per year the loss may be so small that you don't get a warning before the garage tops it up during annual servicing.
