Hi, just in the process of looking at an A3. It's a 3 door 57 plate 1.9tdi sport. Apart from the obvious to look for, what are the common problems related to the 1.9 Diesel engine.

Does anyone know if it has a DPF or not?

Nice cars, I have had 6 A3's, all bar one have been diesels.

 

Same with any car, look for a service history and listen for whistles from the turbo and any obvious accident damage.

Check when the timing belt was changed as this isn't cheap but very important.

Also look at tyre wear, is it even?

No idea mate, but if you know the reg you could contact your local Audi dealership and ask them.
