Hi,

I was hoping someone could help me. I recently bought a 2011 A4 Technik, and I can't figure out how to play the music from my iPhone 5 through the Multimedia system. I have connected with the car through Bluetooth, I can make and answer calls through the system. I thought I could play music through Bluetooth as well, but I am yet to figure it out. I was even looking for a USB port or headphone socket in the car, but there doesn't seem to be one, well not that I have found anyway. Can anyone offer any advice please?

Thanks

Hi Jariath,

It would be useful if you detailed the type of stereo you have fitted to the car (e.g concert, B&O etc) and have you found any connections at all such as SD card, aux in, old style ipod lead etc?

I have an A4 2012 and also thought that it would play through BT but to no avail, but in the glovebox there should be a  square connection on the left to connect with the right wire connections  flash drive ,mp3,iphone etc with the correct wires. I would have thought that they would have came with the car when you bought it, so if you have this square plug hole then you would be able to buy the connections you would need. If you have an audio guide booklet it will mention it in there. hope this helps

Thanks very much for your advice guys. James honestly I have no idea what the system is with regards to the typea you listed, I only bought the car yesterday and it's my first Audi, so I'm still getting to grips with all the functions. I found the connection you mentioned Tramman inside the glove box but its about twice the size of a normal USB connection, I'm guessing it's a specialised lead I need. With regards to any AUX or other ports, there doesnt appear to be any. The SD memory cards aren't specific to Audi no? For instance, I could pick up an average SD card from Tescos?

hope you can see this ,its the four connectors that I use to attach iphone, ipod, usb etcetc so you will have to purchase them to be able to use, also I bought 16gb micro sd cards and they work fine.

I think if you have the SD card slot most Audi vehicles seem to take up to 32GB SDHC in the correct size of course.

Not all. I have 2009 with B&O and SD card slot. Apparently A4's from 2008 and beginning of 2009 had older system (concert) so I can use only non SDHC cards (so only up to 2gb!)

It's a pain! I have cable with old apple input and my old IPAD1 is visible and I can play music from it. However now I have IPhone 6 and Air2 so I'm stuck with 2gb SD's. Does anyone know if buying cable with new apple lightning end would allow my radio to recognize iPhone 6 so I could use Spotify?

Wow I thought you get at least get 4GB in non SDHC as 2GB is pretty tiny these days!?

Look on the unit itself, mines got an sd card slot.

Im using an 8gb micro cd card with adapter to make it into a sd card plus a 4gb usb stick connected to an AMI usb cable, the same one in Tramman 1 pic.

It was about a tenner from eBay,abit of a gamble i first thought but works great so can select betwwen usb or sd.

My 2011 sline se has got bluetooth for phone but not for bluetooth audio, this may have been an optonal extra but ive been told the current A4's have it as standard if that is correct.

I'm using 4 GB class 10 and 16 GB SDHC without any issues. 60 plate.

I've seen under arm rest console of a 59 plate and it had no AUX but had a telephone unit on ???

The telephone units were an option I believe but they are looking a bit dated these days.

Just to revisit this thread, I have a 2013 a4 se technic and I can play music through my phone. Go into media and there is 4 silver buttons round the edge of the control wheel, select source and you can connect to the phone that way, hope this helps
