Starting Issue / Hard Brake Pedal

Featured Replies

64-plate / A4 2.0 TDI S-Line Multitronic (150 PS)

Had an issue starting up this morning. Put the key fob in the dash to turn on the ignition but could not push down the brake pedal. It was solid and had no movement. After a few times, there was no change so I used the spare key but still had the same issues. After a few times of switching on/off the ignition, the brake pedal finally released the pressure and was then able to start.

Does anyone know what this issue could be? Is it the start of something major?

The brake pedal will go hard if you press it a few times whilst the car is off as there is no vacuum.

Your car will still be under Audi warranty so I'd get them to look at it just to be safe.

The problem may/may not be related to the brake pedal as this could just be a side effect of you trying to start it a few times.
