When I start up my a4 cabriolet I hear a noise that sounds like a machine gun that lasts for about 3 to 4 seconds. Its not coming from the engine but appears to be located on the passenger side. Car runs great but noise is just annoying. Anyone got any ideas. Thanks

I have absolutely no idea what that could be unless its something in the heater motor and it disappears once its got to speed?

Try starting it with the heater fan off and see if it disappears.

If Trevor is foxed by this, then I'm sure I would be, but just wondered if this noise was present every time the car was started or when first started from cold. Perhaps you could let us know and we may be able to suggest something else.
