My Audi A3 was mot'd a couple of weeks ago, and had an advisory to top up the oil. Less than a  week later the warning light came on saying I had minimum oil level. I had a TT for 8 years and never had an oil warning light come on. The car will be four years old in July, is this normal or should I be worried? I've owned the car for a year.

It could be a faulty sensor but I would not take the chance and whip it into a garage for them to check it out.

If it has consumed a quantity of oil then I would look at where it is going and possibly change the grade

Let us know how you get on with this

Cheers, Trevor

Thanks for  that Trevor. It did take quite  a bit of oil and the light is now out. There's no oil patches on the driveway so don't know where it's  going. It was an audi garage it was done in, the one we bought it from. Maybe we should go to the garage and have it looked at. Unfortunately now just outside the warranty.
