Air conditioning

Featured Replies

Hi fellow members. This is my first car with air conditioning. One thing, how do you know when the air conditioning needs servicing/re gassing. When I first turn it on it gives out like a damp musty smell. Is thisn a sign. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you

it should say in your service history when your Ac was last serviced. It should be every two years. From the sounds of it yours is probably due for a service.

Cheers

Hi Dan...welcome to the Forum

Usually, the musty smell is the bacteria in the heating & ventilation system and it needs eradicating by using an 'air cond bomb' which is like a smoke grenade which you put the air con on full (recirculation), windows up and let it rip. The smoke/gas works it way through the pipes and tubes killing all bacteria and hey presto, smells nice again

Cheers,  Trevor
