Audi A6 S Line 2006 2.7 TDI semi auto

Having problem with auto gear jamming and not recognising gear on dash board? Any suggestions? Thanks

By semi auto you mean multitronic ?

Are all PRNDS leters lit up on the dash ?

Only gearbox specialist garage now:(

Multitronic are known from being problematic

Might just be low on oil. Best see if it can be topped up if this is the case. But yes autogearbox specialist is best way forward unless a local garage can top up oil. I would phone round though rather than drive lots. Keep the miles down .

Sometimes nothing lights up but will eventually?

Only garage then. They need to plug it in to a vag com to see whats going on

That is true mate for sure if there is a fault, but I have read several threads indicating that the low oil levels prevents the gear actually fully selecting, therefore not displaying. I would say fingers crossed it's low oil level. If not many pennies.

Out of interest, does it do this when cold, i.e. Just started? But gets better as everything warms up? This could indicate low oil too.

Do you know not one manufacturer fits a low oil level warning light for gear boxes!!
