Kems
Hi All I am trying to use my IPhone 6S as the connection for Auto Connect. I have read various forum posts and other things on Google that there are issues with iPhones because it doesn't support rSAP. But all the posts I have read are quite old and there were a few suggestions that Apple knew about the issue and were going to fix. I have (Bluetooth) paired my phone with the MMI system for the phone and it works fine. But when I go into TEL/Settings/Connections the "Data Connections" option is greyed out. Does anyone have any pearls of wisdom for me? Or do I just need to get another SIM for the car? If I have to get a SIM for the car, can I still use my phone for receiving and making calls or will the car default to the SIM in the SIM reader? What a minefield!! Thanks in advance. Lanky111
Hi Mark, I have a Samsung phone so not sure on the apple connectivity but on the MMI - blutooth you should have 'Known Devices' and this will show how your phone is connected - either handsfree, player and connect. might be yours is just connected for the handsfree but is not allowing the car to use the data, a setting on your 'Iphone' probably. I put a Data Sim in mine but had to get the developer menu enabled so I could get to the settings for separating using the car for data and my phone for calls,,, at first the car would only either us the sim in the are OR my phone. this helped a lot, hope it is some use, Cheers Mark. Kems
Thanks Lanky111. I've ordered a data SIM so will give your instructions a go.
