Number plate Light

Hi There

I have changed my number plate lights as one had blown. I put in 2 new bulbs that are LED bulbs this time as old ones weren't very bright. The warning light will not go off but the bulbs are working. Anyone got a reason why? Is it because I've put in LED bulbs or does it need rest and if so how do i do that?

Cheers for any feed back.

LED bulbs have a different impedance than original filament items. Bulb fail detection works on impedance differential on the circuits.

You would need LED units with build in resistors or add resistors to your existing items so that the warning will go out or I believe you can turn of the bulb fail detection in the ECU - depends what the path of least resistance is with you (pun intended)
