  1. Hi unfortunately the only definitive way to find out is to have the car scanned for codes, hazard a guess it may well be an injector BUT without codes who knows. Steve.

Sensible indeed! - funds permitting. My family are ‘banning me’ from such activities on age grounds, and I’m trying to avoid being detected! Kind regards, Gareth.

Hi sensible option, these days I no longer find laying on concrete whilst trying to juggle one and a half tons of metal on axle stands a going proposition especially when you can go in, pay the man and drive home without multiple abrasions and feeling like you have been run down by a bus, sweet. Steve.
  4. I recently upgraded my halogens with LED bulbs for my DRLs, and Osram Nightbreaker 200 bulbs in the mains. I can live with the halogen main lamps, but the sickly yellow DRLs were driving me nuts. Ridiculous on a 2014 car. https://www.horizonleds.co.uk/psx26w-cree-led-50w?search=psx26w I believe its a huge job to get the Audi Xenons to work in a non-Xenon car.
  5. I think ( possible ) that I may have solved this. It seems that the headlight section under Central Electrics was set to North America when it should be rest of the world/nordic countries. Obviously US have this silly sidelight/blinker thing as standard .Luckily I have OBD eleven and using their forums could see that if I wrote the values back to Rest of the world it will work. So made the changes last night and seems to have worked. This means when I turn on position 1 ( to old school people like me that is sidelights) it makes the driving lights/inside bulb come on. Then I have main beam in position 2 which is fine. Finally the outside or sidelights will only illuminate as orange when I use the indicators. So at last when my new bulbs arrive I can swap out for better ones , remove the orange cover and have them all working as expected. Fingers crossed as I need to get this sorted before the dark nights approaching.

Guess that puts him on my "Ignore" list, along with a few others who regularly pose questions and fail to inform us of the outcomes. That's their loss, not mine.
  7. Hello, my car is a different model, so maybe the fault identified with your car doesn’t apply. I must say, though, that I dreaded the possibility that Audi would inevitably find some faults that needed attention. However, my car passed with flying colours which both surprised and pleased me hugely. Since I know of two independent Audi specialists locally, I doubt that I’ll ever use any Main Dealer for any work.

  10. Hi the only problem I can see with the retrofit system is you will have to find a good way of hiding the ballast boxes and wiring as if you have not a very liberal mot tester [rarer than rocking horse manure] you will fail on sight, no washers and levelling as well, try the Philips dipped beam bulbs first. Steve.
