  1. Hi if the car has been service regularly there is no need to change the chain unless it is noisy, what is the lifetime of the car, how long is a piece of string!.

  2. Hi thats an earth connection gone bad and heated up you wont get anywhere with that one I would also check the reciprocating terminal on the plug as it often burns that as well, only way round it if you don't want to buy a new unit and harness plug is if you can get into the back of the bit in the picture take the pin out replace the wire on that pin as far back as possible then either replace the pin or drill through the back of the grey part just above the plug, run the new wire through that'd join it at the back of the plug wiring, correct cable for that terminal, if you put in a pull free connector on your new bit of wiring you can disconnect it any time you like. Steve.

  5. It could be a lot of things, have you checked the prop & driveshafts? Could even be engine-related. If it sounds worse when the air box is disconnected this would indicate that it is related to the engine. Have the swirl flaps been deleted? They can malfunction and become loose & even be ingested by the engine causing all kinds of issues.

  6. hi steven.my battery is in the boot is yours ? as my negative lead is attached to the lowest part in the boot right were the water has been gathering.as gareth has mentioned have the battery efficiency checked(as one of the culprits) once any wiring has been dried out

  7. Hello Steven, Is the boot water in contact with any electrical junction boxes etc. or wiring? If so, this needs to be mopped up, all electrical components carefully dried with a hair dryer, before spraying with contact cleaner. It would also be worth having the battery efficiency checked, before engaging in any more expensive diagnostics. Perhaps you could let us know how you get on Steven. Kind regards, Gareth. p.s. It is obviously desirable to fix the source of your leaks - usually the air vents, but a forum search should colour in the detail for you.

  8. Welcome Craig, and thanks for joining. I believe ( but hopefully others will be more specific) but every 75k is often taken as the ideal change point. If so, you could wait until 200k. ‘Manual side’ and ‘auto side’ - ?? Never come across this but… Cost? I would agree that £240 seems (very) reasonable, but if this were mine, I would be referring to a copy of the 2022, 127k invoice and see what that shows you. Kind regards, Gareth.
