2 pointsHello Paul, I would suspect that you use Halfords to service this virtually new car - worth tens of thousands of £s, to save a little money. If your Halfords centre is anything like my local one, their tool chests are surrounded by a certain three letter national motorfactor’s own brand filters - emblazoned by a once respected bought out brand name. Would I use them on our 175K car? No, I would use well respected aftermarket ones, but of course it’s your call. Can we take it that they are able to formally record this servicing information on VAG’s computerised service history system -? I doesn’t surprise me that VAG are not making it easy to extinguish servicing lights, and really who can blame them? Please don’t think I have any support for main dealers, but I do think - for right or for wrong - that using them during the warranty period does give you a better chance of getting warranty claims sorted. After that, simply use a trusted local garage. Kind regards, Gareth.2 points

2 pointsHi the reason for this is the year of your car, VAG fitted all vehicles with SFD software protection which stops anyone outside themselves from performing a lot of simple functions so they have to do them and charge a shedload for it, it used to be that you could do it on the MMI but thats gone, the only way you can do it now is with OBDEleven pro which has the ability to disable SFD, its not too expensive and would be a worthy tool for the future as you can also reset your inspection milage as well, I discovered all this when I bought a 2021 Passat so I bought OBDEleven that allowed me to reset it all, then I discovered on YouTube that you can reset it all by using the trip distance button on the dash, but in saying that I have since re adapted a sensor and coded in my new battery, all in all its saved me about £400 in diagnostic charges at the dealers. It'll be on the floor under the carpet. Check to see if your carpets a damp, if you're getting condensation on the inside. Check spare wheel well for water too.2 points

Audi 80 Coupe 2.0l 8v for sale very good condition for a 30 year old car. (The images show the condition and were taken today 20/12/2024) Only 3 owners, I have owned it for the last 20 years .The car is totally original, the current mileage is 111524 with full portfolio folder of the vehicle history from new, 3 keys as shown, complete service history as shown, just been serviced and MOT'ed in early December. It also comes with an extra alloy wheel. The only cons for the car are it needs a new roof lining , the remote central locking can be temperamental from the remote but the Cobra alarm immobilizer and door locking is 100% using the key in the door lock. It has some paint fade as you would expect of 30 year old original paint. It is a reluctant sale. I am situated just off the M1 N/B J 21 A Glenfield Leicester.

I am not saying anything of the sort; I am saying I don't believe an oil separator will solve the problem of crankcase pressure. I suggest you get a diagnosis and second opinion from a different garage before committing any money.1 point

Haha very true. I've asked if any one has had a similar experience in multiple places and I haven't come across anyone so that gives me some confidence it might be a one off. But yes, I will take it to a place near me for a second opinion. Thanks for your concern.1 point

1 pointHi. Well the garage have come up with an explanation as to the whereabouts of where the bolt has come from. They recon it's a egr bolt that's been dropped in when I had the egr blanked off.

1 pointYes it is. Panel lights come on for a few seconds to show they are working. It is called a lamp test and clearly yours has failed the test.1 point

1 pointHi steer well clear of J&R they are complete garbage, might be worth looking in to FEBI they do shafts and from what I have heard from various users they are pretty robust, in saying this second hand units can be pretty good as long as when you get them pull the boots back and make sure they are packed with fresh grease. 1 pointHi if you are as knowledgable as you claim you would know that the existing bolts on the front can be altered, or buy a new set from Audi, I know for a fact that you can't obtain any camber adjustment from the front subframe as the mountings are set in their protocols at the factory with a floating jig that positions the subframe precisely + or - two millimetres then the two diametrically opposed bolts are locked in and the jig is removed then the last two bolts are placed and tightened, if the car was on a hunter four wheel alignment unit your camber problem would have flagged up straight away, the local garage I use has this and I have watched them set many vehicles and if the car has been lowered nine times out of ten the operator declares that no suitable camber can be achieved because the lowering has taken any range adjustment out of limits, which I think is the problem you have, therefore it may well serve you better to contact any of the people Steve Q suggested and give them your range data as they may well have a bolt to suit your problem. I'd recommend a second opinion from an Audi independent specialist. If you can get the part number id recommend you source a 2nd hand part, on sites such as eBay including international sellers.1 point

I'd definitely consider the egr/egr cooler as the main cause with this. But you could get a pressure test done on the engine to be safe.1 point
