Hi for what its worth I had this problem over about two years, multiple master cylinder changes multiple brands of cylinder, finally cracked it as it was all about the fluid used, I was of the opinion that all DOT4 was the same, ITS NOT, finally settled on Comma ESP 4 and a new LUK cylinder along with a complete flush of the braking system with Comma, gravity bled the clutch slave cylinder with a auto fill top up bottle and two years and 80k later no problems with the clutch pedal hitting the floor first thing in the morning, an oil/fluid technician I spoke to said that the cheaper brands of DOT4 contain an acidic compound which causes the seals to degrade and wear and in his opinion the Comma is as close to genuine Audi fluid as you can get. Steve.
  3. Been searching for you but struggling to find anything with "pax" code. What's the actual gearbox number? As you might have more luck that way.
  4. Good choice the RS5. As for the B2 Coupe, my 1983 5E was black metallic with silver below the rubber bump strips, silver front spoiler and the fade out Audi rings on the door bottoms so if I was going to relive my twenties then that would be it. Gold wouldn't be my choice unless it ticked every other box. My preference would be black, blue or red, but never white.

Hello Ian, I’ve not used Lanoguard, but have used Waxoyl. The only downside I read of with Lanoguard is that because it comprises of lanolin, the little critters and their bigger relations can have an appetite for it - and any wiring etc that gets covered with it. As well as Lanoguard, it would be worth looking at similar products by Dinitrol and Bilt Hamer ( spelling?) pbefore deciding which suits you best. Re. aluminium and corrosion - it does indeed corrode to white powder. Also it causes differential corrosion between any steel components it contacts. Perhaps you would let us know what you decide to use Ian. Kind regards, Gareth.
  6. Glad you've not been charged for the megatronics replacement. Could you try to find a second hand gearbox of the same code?
  7. Kevin. I have merged your two identical topics into one and moved them from the Introductory section to the A3 section. Please do not create duplicate topics.
  8. I have an email saying it’s been sent to evri. Hopefully get it soon. yea, will just use WD-40, but might need a bit persuasion, will give myself a full day to do the job so no need to rush etc. would like it done before going back to work post festive holidays! Will keep the thread upto date with progress.
  9. Can take a long time to find a used one.
