  1. Hey all sorry for the "hit and run" post but I don't actually own the car anymore so have little use for the forum except to offer an item for sale. I have a detachable tow bar and rear crash bar which was removed from the car when it was exported to Spain (the Spanish wouldn't accept the car with it due to not meeting their paperwork requirements. It was fitted to a 2011 A4 B8 saloon but I'm led to believe it would fit the estate also. Is it of any use to anyone?

  2. Morning All, I have just bought my first Allroad having looked at them 20 years ago when they were way out of my price bracket, but now I'm astounded at how cheap some are - we have just picked this on up on 200k miles for £1k, what could go wrong 🤣 I actually run a garage specialising in servicing, modifying and restoring old Toyota Land Cruisers, so will be tackling everything myself, however digging around this morning notice that VAG do like to over complicate things - we don't have to do much with CAN BUS systems 🤷 First on the list is to get music streaming from phones whilst still using the factory hands free...

  4. A wise choice. To have passed a test with visibly defective lights would not fill me with confidence with regard to the condition of the rest of the car.

  5. Michael. The OP has not been back to the forum for more than five years so you are unlikely to get a reply. I suggest you start a topic of your own if you can not find similar topics in the forum history.

  7. Hi yes I agree with what you say in principle but the poster was asking what are the likely problems owning that model within a certain year band, the problem I quoted will happen at some point I had three coolers over 270k and it did not matter how much chemistry/care I lavished on the car that problem still persisted, there are legions of posts on this site about adblue and cooler problems its an inherent flaw with Audi A4/A6 within those years which is very much peculiar to the brand, you can't generalise its VAG engineering, no its Audi engineering, dont get me wrong I loved my car but over the miles the costs are prohibitive, ask yourself the question why are these cars being sold at around 80k, answer its around 80-100k the real fun and expense begins, I now have a VW Passat as a cab had it from 60k now on 100k and in terms of reliability and part costs it knocks spots off of the Audi and I would say in sports mode very little to choose between the two power wise as you are not dragging along all that weight. Steve.
