  1. Under the circumstances, £180 is okay. To be honest, the oil service should have been done prior to road trip racking up miles.
  2. 99% certain you have the 7-speed s-tronic gearbox, the 8-speed tiptronic was used in the SQ5 QUR is your gearbox code CTBA is your engine code LZ7G is your paint code N5W FZ is your interior type and colour codes All the other codes relate to your factory build spec and can be decoded at sites like - https://www.oemvwshop.com/pr-code-decoder/
  3. Folks latest update re the EML on my A6 40 TFSI, 2022. The below email was sent from Audi to Motorpoint. When contacted by Motorpoint today and after reading the email, I told them, that I don't think Audi have actually done anything significantly to rectify the issue, other than reset the EML. Motorpoint have agreed to keep my car and ensure it has done 50 miles , leaving me with the curtesy car. Email below Hi Jim Please find below the notes from the Audi tech and what they found when the car was in : Visually confirmed EML active while collecting vehicle. Static events stored under 0001. Completed available test plans: basic setting of throttle valve carried out during test - result states no defect present. Tested air intake and charge air system for leaks - lambda valves altered during test. Test plan advises leak in air intake or charge air system likely present. Assessed all components of systems for obvious signs of damage or leaks - nothing noted. Fault may be resolved via throttle valve basic setting as EML no longer active post road-test. If fault re-occurs, additional time required to assess system for potential leaks. I hope this helps.
  4. That surprises me. Good luck and don't let the traction battery level go too low.
  5. Checked the owners manual it says if yellow oil light comes on check engine oil level and top it up but my oil is at max so im guessing its a sensor fault that sits at bottom of oil sump
  6. Whether the light is red, yellow, purple, green or pink means nothing to me. As long as you are satisfied that the engine has oil which is being pumped around you will probably be OK.
  7. Beany. Have you established whether the light is for oil level or oil pressure as Gareth asked? It it refers to pressure it is likely a faulty sensor and you drive at at your own risk. It it refers to oil level the car should not be moved another inch. In fact the engine should not even be fired up until you have made certain there is actually some oil in the sump. To my mind it would be foolish to use the car until you have some certainty about its lubrication.
  8. Just to confirm - this is the oil level light, and not the oil pressure light-? If level light, then yes, it likely to be the sensor or its connector. Please let us know how you get on. Regards, Gareth.
  9. I believe its a VGT turbo, or a Variable Geometry Turbo, also known as a variable vane turbo. There is an electronic control module that adjusts the exhaust turbine blades which means when the vanes are closed you get rapid spool up at low RPM, the vanes then open as RPM increases to provide more boost.
  10. Which means James paid £140 for peace of mind and a half hour of labour while a long way from home. I would probably have done the same in his circumstances.
  11. Ah lovely, was going to get a new / second hand lift pump anyway to rule it out. Shall get one ordered asap and get it all fitted and see what happens. Thank you Steve
  12. That the "smoke" only appears for a few minutes after starting the engine is new information, which I wish you had mentioned earlier to save both our times. That means it is only steam and should be ignored. Water is one product of fuel combustion. It condenses to a visible cloud in a cold exhaust; but becomes invisible as the system warms up. It will be more apparent in low temperatures.
  13. No probs, marked the reservoir water/coolant thing with a pen yesterday. have drove about 60 miles today, about 30 on the motorway. Checked my water/coolant levels tonight and no sign of it dropping at all. I know it’s only been one day, so I’ll keep checking through the week 👍🏻
