  1. Apologies for the gripe, but the forum has recently suffered from a spate of what can be termed ‘Post and Run’ new members, who seem to think it’s perfectly acceptable to post a plea for help, and simply not return to view the help given. In a more diluted form, help is offered, but is very rarely acknowledged even via. a simple press of the Like button, leave alone a posted Thank You. The last part of the gripe is that we frequently have to ask for additional information, and this extra detail often never materialises. Please remember, everyone who posts replies do so without payment, but it certainly does cost them in time - in terms of the Moderators and Admin back up - a lot of time. So a special plea to all on here who post needing help:- please be respectful enough to acknowledge any help given, rather than simply accept it as a no-cost, no time of yours, free advice service. It’s wearing thin folks, so if you want to retain this service, please respect and acknowledge its benefits. Thank you all for reading this, and above all, agreeing to adhere to the respect that is needed to be shown. Kind regards, On behalf of the Moderators. Please note:- This request is to all members, not just new ones. p.s. Please avoid using non specific locations such as U.K., England etc. etc.
  2. might need to look under to see if there are any mounting holes if so then you can buy some aftermarket ones i seen on ebay
  3. Hi as suggested its probably the alarm module, not sure where it is on your car but on the C7s its under the front Scuttle where it can get nice and damp and the connections can corrode done a couple of them and C7 modules are expensive circa £500 but I have had some success with second hand units from my local VAG breakers £70.00. Steve.
  4. Hello Damian, I’m very sorry to hear of your unfortunate family situation any additional problems/responsibilities must be something you could do without. Have you read my last post? Based on that, and your circumstances, my thought process comes up with the following:- If it ain’t broke, do you want to fix it? Money is tight, so why bother to spend to hopefully resolve a problem for another 3 months of use. Parts won’t be cheap if it’s anything like the U.K? If the problem can be minimised by running the heater then again why bother? The car doesn’t appear to be in a condition where it’s likely to come to a catastrophic end in the next couple of months. You have 4 jobs Damian, so where are you going to find the time to undertake this work, leave alone the inconvenience of being without it while you attempt to fix it? My mind points me to whether you may want to undertake this work to boost the moral. Apologies if I’m well off line here. Regards, Gareth.
  5. Hi everyone, I'm glad to report that the fault was down to corrosion on a cable/wire under the car closer to the wheel arch area and had nothing to do with the Steering rack or module, big heads up to anyone that is told its a major fault with the steering rack etc, I'm lucky to have found a totally awesome time served honest garage owner that found the fault for me and it cost me £200 all in. Thanks for your help on the forum. Cheers Colin.

Earlier last week the drivers side wiper stopped working. Traced it down to the wiper linkage becoming disattached. Popped it back together but after a few wipes it came back off again. It’s a ball and cup socket just under the plastic flap on the drivers side under the bonnet. Spoke to Audi who don’t sell the plastic cup socket or the arm separately wanted £354+vat for an entire linkage 😳. Found on amazon some spring repair clips for £5.99 that that didn’t list that they fitted an Audi but thought I could fudge them to do the job. Turns out they fitted without any modification but did need persuading with a pair of grips and work perfectly again. Hope this helps if anybody has a this problem as the Audi guy says it’s common that’s why they keep the linkage in stock. Forgot to mention I messaged every place breaking a Q7 on eBay etc with no luck but as a temp fix you can wrap a layer of pvc insulation tape around the metal ball of the wiper arm and squeeze back together. Works for a day or two
