Hi absolutely sod all else, for that sort of money at an independent garage you wold get, oil/filter, pollen and air filter, what you are being charged for is some Wassoc to wander around underneath with a torch and a phone camera trying to find the smallest excuse to generate more overpriced work, when you look on this forum there are loads of people who have been told by Audi that this bush is gone that needs changing, the best one ever on another forum was your brake pads need changing because they are 50% worn, when are people going to wake up to the fact that full Audi service history is not worth a cup of cold goats urine, better an honest independent that values your custom. Don’t buy VCDS via EBay, buy it from Gendan UK. VCDS is RossTech and you get lifetime updates for software and genuine dongle to connect to car and laptop. You can buy in 3-VIN, 5-Vin or professional unlimited version. Regards connection, suspect it’s HEX-2. Gendan will be able to advise. On 2014 model you should be able to do most things, depends what you want it for. On 2020 or newer, then a number of restrictions in place regards adaptations that require dealer level ODIS system.

You'd be best looking for some second hand ones on eBay. Not sure if they bolt from underneath or on top.

Every single warning light should illuminate for a few seconds after turning the ignition key. It's a lamp test function designed, as the name suggests, to demonstrate if the bolbs are working. I suspect the oil level fault is a separate matter to the above, and is probably a sensor failure. Scanning with a decent code reader should confirm. I believe a new sensor is cheap but I don't know how difficult it is to fit. If your car has a dipstick then it will be more than adequate for checking oil level until you get the sensor sorted out. Dip the oil once per week according to the car handbook, or more often if the engine is known to be an oil guzzler.

Welcome Paul, I guess this year car would have come with a handbook - ? Have you checked the oil level procedure according to the handbook? Appreciating manufacturers may specify different procedures, but my similar age non- Audi must be checked with the engine cold. This makes sense to me, since from the good old days! of dipsticks, the procedure was always to check oil level on level ground, with engine cold - for me, after standing overnight. Regards, Gareth.

Hello, Some dash cam systems can be powered from your OBD2 reader - Mine is a Thinkware system and they sell a specific power lead to achieve this. So might be worth checking on your dashcam manufacturer’s website to see if there is an option you can purchase? I had a quick look at their website and it seems there are options on there depending on which kit/bundle you have purchased. Hope you get sorted. Best regards, David👍
