As a new member I thought I would share my experience of an ABS pump problem I had. I was quoted £3500 to supply and fit a new one. However after some research and some help from my local Audi specialist, I sent the pump to ECU Testing for a rebuild. The garage removed it and replaced it once it had returned. ECU arranged the courier and the turnaround a couple of days. This was nearly 3 years ago and I've had no problem since and the total cost was less than £300. I understand they may not always be able to rebuild it, depending on the fault, if not you just pay a nominal fee for inspection and send it back. I was very pleased with their service. Also if you haven't found your local Audi specialist (not dealership!) they are definitely worth driving a few extra miles for.

At some point consider getting VCDS. Cheapest package is 3 VIN licence for £222, pus an old laptop to run it on. That gives you lifetime updates and genuine HEX-V2 USB dongle. If you're running a Bi-turbo 3.0 TDI, there's a lot you can do yourself, to disabling rear electric handbrake to swap out discs and pads to priming fuel pump, plus a host of other things. Thanks for your help guys. It was the directional jet's that where gunked. I'd tried to remove the cover many times but it was well and truly jammed on. Good old wd40 saved the day.

Dave. If all the air vents blow cold I'd agree it's likely the matrix; however if some vents blow cold while others blow hot it's more probable that some of the flap motors in the air ducts are faulty. No matter how expensive the genuine Audi clutch, it will be cheaper than replacing a damaged gearbox.

Yours will be a C7 if 2014. As far as I cam see part is 4H0898037, so the heater matrix looks around £300 from Audi. https://www.lllparts.co.uk/catalogs/audi/RDW/A6/798/8/820/820020 I've not done this job thankfully, so just going on what I can see. Before you do anything, just run a scan with VCDS. If you're stripping out part of the trim - you'll have access to heater motors which often fail. This will show up on a scan. Are you sure the dash needs to come out? Quick scan on YouTube on a C7, looks like you need to remove the passenger glovebox, possible part of the central trim. I'd also remove the passenger seat for access. Pull the battery and put on trickle charge as there's airbag connectors there.

I have used a puller in the past for a stuborn arm. Still have it. Better than a bent arm. About £11 from b&q. Cheaper on ebay

hi mark,the arms on the rear can be very stubborn to remove,spray plenty of wd40 or something similar onto it and maybe leave it overnight to soak,a pullers might be needed if this fails but just be careful of the glass.Greg
