  1. I had the same issue with the E brake, went into Audi, it was a faulty ECU within stere are two not 100% sure tho
  2. And so continues the saga...A Heads up folks if you are not already aware Went to get in the car on Sunday last, press the shiny button and ‘bing’ warning low coolant message appears - and you now G12 doesn’t exist in local motor factors - which apparently is the only coolant you are supposed to use or you invalidate the warranty. Popped the bonnet, looking at the bottle it looks a little low, unscrewed the cap and there was absolutely nothing in there, its seems some residual pink fluid sits in the tiny mouldings at the front of the coolant bottle - could have easily fooled me Anyway after a week or so in the dealership I get a call saying as I now have an approved Audi warranty only I may have to pay for the diagnostic (inspection) of the vehicle if the issue is not covered 😞 Luckily for me I guess as it turns out there has been an Audi recall/ bulletin regarding coolant loss on A7’s. it may appear like this..see video. AA man got out his telescopic mirror and could see liquid dripping at the bottom of the engine, black water substance. He also noticed the same fluid appearing just in the ‘V' of the engine - popped the cover off and shone the torch in amongst the pipes. IMG_1672.mov
  3. I had the a6 avant bi turbo on loan when my A7 was In the fixers (again) flick the dial to dynamic and you get the lusty belch (growl) out of the exhaust, M6 toll road bridges are great fun on the throttle
  4. Hi James, Have you approached Audi UK ?(although I found them very toothless). Also if you purchased the car with Finance your finance company is also liable, and responsible as they in essence own the vehicle. They will come down on the dealer a lot heavier than you can. Here is another approach; https://www.moneyadviceservice.org.uk/en/articles/your-rights-if-something-is-wrong-with-your-car Let us know how you get on don’t lose hope.
  5. Hi James, If you are In dire straits the only approach at the moment is to contact Dunlop directly and have them returned for inspection. If you want to get independent advice speak to a local tyre trader. These tyres can be collected for free I believe, understand the length of time it takes. but then you are talking nearly 400 quid a side if you don’t shop around it becomes very expensive. I think we all here totally have sympathy for your issues, but the only real way to force the issue is to contact them (dunlop) with a complaint to get the ball rolling. Its a pain but best to be safe than sorry. Best of luck.👍
  6. Wife comes in tells me the rear drivers side back doors broken, turns out it can now only be opened from inside the car. Is it a stuck pin, dodgy electrics? the handle does naff all, I get the feeling someones been 'ruff housing' my pride and joy 🤨
  7. I was told tow bars not compatible with A7’s - first Audi I’ve had that I was cautioned against, dunno why, is the Quattro system?
  8. This is something that was done to my car, but they neglected to tell me when I bought (it was a recall btw), I did ask if it had any major repairs (Audi Main dealer btw) They said none. A week after owning it I had oil light warning, telling me to reduce speed etc, called em and asked why they’d sell a car with no oil in, it went back. 3 weeks later, oil smoke In the cabin on the M6, engine was covered In oil and all over motorway slip road - can you guess what they didnt do?
  9. This was posted in 2016 - safety recall on specific dunlop sports Maxx GT tyres - totalling 369 tyres in correct compound used https://www.hiqfranchise.co.uk/Network-News/safety-recall-recall-of-dunlop-sportmaxx-gt-tyre-in-size-25540zr19-100y-xl/ On Audiworld website, this is probably as bad as it gets. 10. Hi id definitely think it is worth asking them to check it out, the last thing you want is the roof lining to sag, it won’t look good and if you snag it when cleaning the windscreen it’ll surely pull at the roof panel. tbh it’s not the best fitting unit, in fairness but it’s far better than a trailing wire from the cigar lighter I’d have thought. i will take some better pics at the weekend if you like, I’m away at the moment.
  11. Get Audi to send them back to Dunlop/ Goodyear.
  12. This what ya should see towards the bottom, I think I had my g sensor way up to high (oerr missus) goes off when hitting speed bumps
  13. Hi ya Dasher, should be as simple as connecting. Downloading the video/images to your phone. I’m guessing you are logging in using phone. You need to connect to the WiFi of the UTR. Then open app (turn car ignition, no need to have it running) or take out the micro Sd and download to your pc/mac
  14. Hi Moky, Mine works in parking mode, it is also hardwired using the Hardwire kit that came with it.( it isn’t powered from the 12v cigarette adapter) There is usually an audible notification once the ignition is turned on and also turned off. There is a setting on the app that initiates this. Ill have a look later and see if I can send over a couple of screen grabs.
  15. I don't think it is limited to Audis, im guessing they are not only vehicles suffering from this, Im seeing Jaguar Xf's etc on a Google searches.
  16. Hi all, Link to Watchdog website, there is a quick form and a place to input your information it takes about 10 mins to do. May be worth linking to this thread (copy and paste link) https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006mg74/contact
  17. Hi Mike, As mentioned previously, these need to be returned directly to Goodyear/Dunlop. They can be returned by the tyre fitter or garage that removed them, this can be done for free so shouldn't cost to do this. I wish you all the best and hope it gets sorted, this has gone on way to long, but neither Audi or Dunlop are making any noises. AT THE MOMENT!
  18. Ok, the A7 went if for its first MOT. It failed! Two tyres Dunlop sportsmaxx- one tyre bulge on inside and other split - both front tyres BTW. Oh and my number plate was 2 mm out with the spacing. :( One of the gearbox ECU’s failed the one that operates the auto handbrake malfunctioned ( you can guess the cost for that) lucky its in warranty Audi Garage carrying out MOT spotted oil leaking from between the Engine and Gearbox - said it would need to go back to the Audi garage I bought it from. So What Is Leaking then? Long story short and a week later back to the other Audi Garage. They had it for over a week as i refused to accept the car back unless it was resolved and fixed adequately, in fairness they agreed and carried out the required work. Said they couldnt find any oil leak, mmm, but said they wiped the understray and around the engine but could find any oil - WTF. They did identify the following and this follows in line with a stories i heard a while ago with older models when major engine damage was the outcome. 1st - They noticed the Adblue seals were leaking - so they changed those....TICK! 2nd. They also noticed the seals (4)around the injectors were leaking diesel....TICK This may sound pretty standard the way it was reported to me over the phone. They say they carried out a 200 mile test drive and couldnt see any oil leaking. So i have had the car back, on the basis that I drive it for another 600 miles before returning it for its next service.
  19. Tried this on a dry ski slope once, nearly killed my instructor...I definitely told him I wasn’t stopping..😏
  20. Hi ya Nasser, I found this link on another Audi forum - (sorry guys not sure if its ok to paste link here remove if necessary) The issue here was with oil - catastrophic by the sounds of it, how it travelled through the whole of thew ring loom - sounds horrendous http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php/185313-Audi-A7-Gearbox-Oil-Leak-Causes-Electronics-Failure Im posting this as last year my A7 was losing oil, long story short - told Audi to refund my money as smoke filled the cabin as I was leaving the motorway up the exit, lets put it this way I couldn't see the hard shoulder. This was attributed to an oil leak - i'd only had the car 2 months. It was towed to another Audi garage where they identified oil leaking from between the engine and gearbox and then eventually poured all over the hot exhaust and pasted the all of the mechanics the brakes etc in hot engine oil. The dealer ship where it was purchased from quickly asked for it to be returned to them for inspection after 5 weeks it was returned, along with some compensation, another years 'Audi' warranty, the car totally detailed, refund for the split tyres, I had to pay out for (see post on sports maxx GT tyres). 6 months later its started again, spots of oil on my newly tarmaced driver, the smell of burning smoke In the cabin on start up and idling. It went to a local Audi dealership last week, for its first MOT, they advised the car need to be returned to my dealership as it was leaking again from behind the engine and gear box. Also they say they replaced the stop start - ecu under warranty Keep em peeled folks, first signs of oil loss or having to top up - send it in
  21. Some of you may have the pleasure of a bi-turbo or a factory active speaker or your A7's I dont :( Ok, so not that Im a hooligan, I got given a 320 bi-turbo A6 estate whilst my A7 was in for couple of post sale issues (another day maybe). Oh my word, did feel like I was going to get a pull - have my collar felt. It just seems as soon as I found the "other" loud button - not the big one on the floor everything within 100yds scattered for cover. And no I didn't get bored of opening it up under the M6 toll bridges with the windows down I had an A6 all road (the burble was amazing) which needing no introducing to the neighbours when I came down the road after work at 2 In the morning. So I have thought about my summer wish list, as I do expect to keep the A7 for at least another year, that is if a better RS6 Avant is released So have opened some discussions with the gentleman at CETE Automotive in Germany, trying to find out a little more about this system they have. Whilst I am aware of another company called Kufatec, I dont believe Kufatec provide a system for A7's with Ad blu, not sure why but I recall reading somewhere that it wasn't supported. If anyone has any experience of this kinds of tech , feedback here would be greatly appreciated This the system the guy from CETE has suggested - see link, saying it is fully compatible with my specification car https://www.active-sound.eu/en/audi/audi-a7/audi-a7-4g/audi-a7-4g-active-sound-retrofit-kit
  22. So going back to the original post :) Has anyone already fitted (im guessing the have) front and rear cameras to their A7? Be it the Audi UTR , next base, think aware etc I would be absolutely grateful for anyone with any pointers for getting this right "first time" I do love a challenge :)
  23. Yep agree, They both have really good reputation, I think the next base much better tbh (although I have returned a next base after 2 months as it constantly froze), I have one in my transporter. I think the price point for the Audis with the front and rear set up and hard wired harness might be cheaper, but I could be wrong.
  24. Wassup niedzial, Without providing the link the buy it now price was 285 plus p&p - included was wiring harness, front and rear cameras and install instructions - I submitted an offer and got it cheaper In comparison to other makes on the market, I looked at the snooper which I already have, if im honest they difference to me is slight, they are all are much of a muchness. I felt the integration of this system was more beneficial to me than the presumed overall image quality, anything 1080p with built In memory and wireless access and link to onboard Audi system is a benefit. Long term use I can only guess at, I just want to jump in the car, have no hassle of messing with a switched or memory cards, if it ultimately helps In a claim or records an incident and saves on my insurance premiums I think it worth giving it a go. Some insurers actually discount you if you have one installed apparently
