Hi. My beautiful E-Tron GT has to go back to Audi. It has developed corrosion on two of the alloy wheels. Audi are going to have them refinished for me (F.O.C.) and they are lending me an E-Tron car. So not all bad news . Tony

Hi I have had my e-Tron GT 5 weeks now and I seem to have learnt most of it's secrets. It is actually a stunning car in every respect. It's very economical to run, to charge on my home charger to 80% (recommended) costs about £16.00 on my energy tariff which gives me approx. 260 miles. I always shop at Tesco's now as you can charge for free there. I usually find a small group of people looking at the car when I get back to it. The performance is blistering 0-60 in 4.3 seconds 0-100 in 9 secs is fast enough for anybody. The only drawback I have found is that the doors are rather on the narrow side ( Should it have been a 2 Door) My son is 6'3ins tall and when he puts the front seat back he is staring a the B post. But on the whole I wouldn't change it for the world. Tony

Hi. Just got my new E-Tron GT and I must agree with you I was a little disappointed with the interior. I traded my A6 Avant Black Edition for the E-Tron and it was much better inside. Retractable covers over the trinket boxes and drinks holders ect. What do you mean by S mode? Mine changes the 2 speed box automatically under brisk acceleration. Probably not doing the transmission much good through. Tony

Hi. I believe the lock spirals into the mechanism. Try pushing the flap opposite side to the hinge as you pull the lanyard. The mechanism may have jammed in the down position. Tony

Hi David I have just bought a new E-Tron GT and I am "old school" so it is way beyond me. I had an hours tutorial with the Audi salesman and still had to get it touch with the Audi help desk who finished the set up for me. So you are not on your own. Tony

Hi Dianne I would imagine this was a bit of a shock. Fuel filter, dust and pollen filter and the timing belt would not be part of the MOT. Get those done as soon as you can afford them. These jobs are possibly 50% of the bill. Throttle body is probably why you are losing power and causing the warning light. Front link arm possible the bushes are worn, coil spring may be broken. I think these would have to be done to pass MOT. Best of luck Tony

Hi Only had my E-Tron GT 10 days. Great car, but have found that if you place your mobile phone in the wi fi charge place you can't shut the lid.

I sold my Beautiful A6 Avant. So goodbye to my A6 friends who have helped me over the years. But wait a moment, I am not going far, I am changing forum destinations. I have just purchased a Audi E-Tron GT.

Hi My 2016 Avant doesn't has any way of holding up the boot liner either.

Hi Louise. Had a look at my Avant. Stephen is quite right as you close the lid, the plunger spirals in locking the flap. Perhaps as he has said it may be stuck in the down position. Tony

Hi Louise. I think all fuel caps should lock by law some way or another. In all the years I have had my Avant I have never tried to open it other than at a fuel station. I am going to have to try now. Will get back to you. Tony

The "smoke" looks very white to me. Could this possibly be a head gasket? could try a compression test.

Hi Just returned from my trip. It is very difficult now to follow the A30 as it has been swallowed up by other through roads, such as the A36 at Salisbury. Apart from that, it was closed at Chard with a detour through some very narrow lanes and farm yards. Went to Haynes Sparkford Museum on the way back, very good and interesting. Very pleased with the A6's performance. 46.2mpg on the way there, coming back cruise control on set at 75 mph returned 49.5mpg. Probably cheaper than an electric car. Tony

I am playing golf down in Somerset next week. I intend to take the scenic route. When I was a little lad, my parents had friends in Somerset and I always remember the arguments between my Dad and them regarding the A30 and the A303. My Dad was always for the A30. I am going to try to follow that route. Remembering the Morris 8 that a valve broke on and went through the piston, the exhaust bracket the broke on the Wolseley. Stopping for lunch in various pubs etc. It's going to take all day. After a couple of days of golf I am returning on the A303 stopping at Sparkford to go to The Haynes Motor Museum. It might not seem a big trip these days but it will be interesting to try to remember what it was like back in the 50's-60's, looking through the windscreen of my air conditioned A6. Tony

Took the car in. No fault codes, not done it since, rear wash wipe behaving itself, no charge. A glitch in the system perhaps.

Should be OK with that mileage

Ni A Had mine replaced a few months ago. Cam Belt and Water Pump. It does make sense if you are that deep into the engine and the labour involved. (£915 at Audi) How many miles has the car done? Tony
