  1. theres also a company called audi tradition in germany, theyre not cheap but supposedly they buy all parts from audi when they are for 15 yr old cars and older,Greg

  4. just an update on the issue with the headlight, after 3 weeks of trying various things i gave the car to an auto electrician who said the unit was not repairable so i bought a new headlight from motorfactors who i always use,it cost me 730 euro.audi wanted 1450 for same unit!! anyway ive it fitted now so all good again. by the way, these are very hard to get in breakers here in eire and i tried a few in the uk too but appearantly this is a fairly common problem on the A5.Greg
  5. hi jeremy,i would definitely get a second opinion from a local independant garage as audi are well known for diagnosing the very worst scenario .greg
  6. its definitely worth a try! thanks again
  7. ill check it again tomorrow in the daylight, thanks for your advice jason

    egr problem

hi gareth, thanks for the reply,im leaning towards that route anyway i think, but its always good to get a second opinion. im going to try drive it over the holidays and hopefully itll clear itself out,ill keep the forum updated.thanks again Greg.
  13. good morning folks and a happy christmas to everyone,im looking for some advice,i bought a 2014 A5 last week its a nice car and im happy with it but the egr valve is sendeing on the eml and the vcds is showing code P0401 00,insufficient flow. now it was parked up for a few months so ive put in a cleaning additive and am using the car as much as possible, theres no problem with power.my question is should i get the valve replaced with a new one or get it blanked?i dont know much about this system of mapping it out and wonder will it effect the emissions when i nct [mot]the car. thanks in advance and have a peaceful christmas and new year.GREG
  14. me neither!
  15. nice looking car,the best of luck with it.Greg
  16. hi malachy, when that model was sold new here in ireland that was the standard way they came with no side repeaters,a lot of them were imported secondhand from the uk and the 1st tell tale sign of a uk import was the side repeaters.so they were definitely sold in others countries like this as standard.Greg.
  17. yeah that would be the best option,it only takes a couple of minutes with the vcds, best of luck,Greg
  18. hi david ,your right in that you can reset the oil service but youl need vcds to reset the service light,a standard obd wont do it either i think
  19. hi mark, any main dealer will always give you a list of jobs that need to be done and most can be ignored in my opinion, however id definitely be taking it to a good mechanic for a second opinion before audi do anything to it,greg.
  20. hi mark, this happened to a pal of mine with a 2007 Q7,a uk company had done work on his ecu and when he got it back and fitted it he called them and they sorted all the faults while he was on the phone.this might be worth a try?greg
