  1. no problem,i know on the a6 of the same year its fairly straightforward, you need to remove the plastic strip that runs back from the door handle, theres 3 bolts there and then theres 2more down onthe panel where the switch is for the elec window. maybe google it and itll show you clearly.Greg
  2. hi richard,i think the history for cam belt change and service history will be online if its been done by audi or a reputable independant garage.Greg
  3. hi imran,id be removing the door car and check is there something loose or if someone previously changed the window reg they may not have put it back properly or maybe left a nut or washer in the door panel.Greg
  4. i agree kev, theyre very overpriced, the only consolation here in eire is theres no import duty.Greg
  5. i checked mine, theres rubber fitted on the top and bottom but the the sides have none,it sits onto the rubber seal thats around the boot,i hope this helps.Greg
  6. ha ha,your not wrong stephen ,they certainly know how to charge.
  7. im not 100% sure are we talking about the same rubber,if you put up a pic ill compare it to mine this evening,Greg
  8. theres also a company called audi tradition in germany, theyre not cheap but supposedly they buy all parts from audi when they are for 15 yr old cars and older,Greg
  9. hi pete, ive a 95 coupe and it has the rubber all around the window, greg
  10. welcome to the forum, very nice looking s4,im sure youl sort the bonnet catch with a bit of fiddling and patience, best of luck.Greg
  11. just an update on the issue with the headlight, after 3 weeks of trying various things i gave the car to an auto electrician who said the unit was not repairable so i bought a new headlight from motorfactors who i always use,it cost me 730 euro.audi wanted 1450 for same unit!! anyway ive it fitted now so all good again. by the way, these are very hard to get in breakers here in eire and i tried a few in the uk too but appearantly this is a fairly common problem on the A5.Greg
  12. hi jeremy,i would definitely get a second opinion from a local independant garage as audi are well known for diagnosing the very worst scenario .greg
  13. its definitely worth a try! thanks again
  14. ill check it again tomorrow in the daylight, thanks for your advice jason

good morning folks and a happy christmas to everyone,im looking for some advice,i bought a 2014 A5 last week its a nice car and im happy with it but the egr valve is sendeing on the eml and the vcds is showing code P0401 00,insufficient flow. now it was parked up for a few months so ive put in a cleaning additive and am using the car as much as possible, theres no problem with power.my question is should i get the valve replaced with a new one or get it blanked?i dont know much about this system of mapping it out and wonder will it effect the emissions when i nct [mot]the car. thanks in advance and have a peaceful christmas and new year.GREG
  21. nice looking car,the best of luck with it.Greg
  22. hi malachy, when that model was sold new here in ireland that was the standard way they came with no side repeaters,a lot of them were imported secondhand from the uk and the 1st tell tale sign of a uk import was the side repeaters.so they were definitely sold in others countries like this as standard.Greg.
  23. yeah that would be the best option,it only takes a couple of minutes with the vcds, best of luck,Greg
